Don’t Touch My Right to Bear Arms: Stand Your Ground

As a Native of Florida – I believe that our “Stand your Ground” laws are appropriate.  In fact, over 30 states have a version of law, and I appreciate the opportunity, if ever necessary, to protect myself.  Stronger so-called gun control laws have NEVER, historically been effective in removing guns from criminals.  It removes guns from law abiding citizens.  I’m not willing to relinquish my ability, if I so choose, to carry a firearm.

I don’t pretend for a second to understand what was going through #Zimmerman ‘s mind when this tragic incident occurred.  Martin was 4” taller, and definitely more athletically inclined than he.  Martin  was a thug-kid from Miami Gardens.  Zimmerman was a 5’7”, out of shape guy whose head was being pounded into the concrete.  What would I have done?  Maybe I’d have done the same thing.  I don’t have a “flight” mechanism, so I don’t know if I would have run even if I had wanted to.
